Looking forward to another great reunion!

This is my first year to attend and I am looking forward to seeing some of my old classmates.  

I look forward to Oct.every year. This is my fourth reunion and know it wont be my last. I cant wait to hear the great music and see some old friends. If you have never been, please come and join us for a great time!

I have not been to one of these reunions yet. I have heard so much about it and I can't wait to see everybody. Looks like soooo much fun!! See ya real soon!

Well Westsiders, it's almost here, the biggest, badest, animal party of the year, staring wild people from the west side ofCharlotte who know how to really have fun and raise a little hell while doing it!!!As the owner of Duck's, this is my favorite party because I not only get to see old friends from my days at Wilson Jr. High, but a lot of the people that I grew up with and are still friends with after so many years.  And,I have the great pleasure of meeting so many new friends.If you haven't made up your minds yet to come and renew old high school friendships,and have a wonderful time being "young" again, then make the decision now and sign up and come party with all of your other classmates to have the time of your life.  No excuses accepted, just come on down and be ready to party with the "best of the best".......Westsiders, it don't get no better then this!!!  THE NUMBER 1 HIGH SCHOOL REUNION IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!!!Love ya all, see you next Thursday!!!David

 1966 graduate of Harding. Never been to a  class reunion.  Know it would be lots of fun seeing all of you. Live in Indian Trail, NC.  My husband  of 42 years ( from NY) thought the shag was a style of carpet back in the  60's  ha! ha!. I don't qualify as a Harding or West Meck graduate but I did spend a few years a Wilson Jr High as well as Berryhill Elementary.  I lived on the West Side out near the airport and made a few lifelong friends during a very impressionable time of my life.  I think it is absolutely amazing what Harding and West have been able to do keeping the "Old Days" alive as well as continuing friendships for so many years. If my memory serves me correct  there must have been a time that school boundry lines was changed .  I  came back a dated a girl in 1968 that was going to Harding but I do know at one time she would have gone to  West from the same location she lived at. Of course we would come from cherryville duing my high school days and go to many of the same places - BBQ King,  Town and Country, The Cellar,  Park Center and even The Purple Penguin.  I would have graduated with many of you guys in 1969 had my mom stuck around  instead of moving a little west ...I really love the music of that era and some of you know about "The Friday Night Revival" on WSGE. For some of you graduates that moved away you can still listen onlline live from 6pm until 10pm every friday night by going to www.wsge.org  and clicking on listen live.   We play a whole lot of the great tunes from the sixties which I refer to as the West side music.. In may I will be doing an all sixties night along with DJ Ed Timberlake at Lynns Dance Club and would love to have this group come on out and party like we used too.  I thnk it is May 23rd.  Again,  this is great what all of you have been able to sustain.  Keep it up,  it makes me proud to have just lived on the west side for a few years during that wonderful time.  Big Ways  Treasure Hunt ..   .. Big Ways Birthday Parties .. hmmm ... the memories just go on and on ...

I sent the following e-mail message to Larry Parks on Oct. 4, 2012 and thought that it might be of interest to others...especially other committee members. Thank you, Larry, for the great work that you and the reunion committee do each year in planning and preparing for this fun event.  Thank you also for keeping us so well informed about the Reunion.  Linda and I look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks. Our Harding High School class of 1962 just celebrated our 50th Reunion and had a great turnout.  However, out of a class of about 240 people, we know that 31 have already died.  Thirty-eight more we have not been able to find, so some of them may also be deceased.  Others we know have some serious and in some cases terminal illnesses.  This all brings to mind that each year fewer and fewer of our numbers will be able to attend our reunions…thus emphasizing the importance of getting together and enjoying our friendships with classmates while we can.  Don’t wait until next year…it may be too late!  Steve Davis

This will be our third year and we are both looking forward to seeing our old buddies and making new ones. It is indeed a very pleasant stroll down memory lane when we see and visit with everyone there. Many thanks to the committee for all their hard work. It is very much appreciated. I've only seen a few classmates since graduation.  So, hey everybody. After I graduated from college as a nurse, I lived hither and yon--Nebraska and Texas then back home where the grass is green and there are TREES!  I went back to college several times and went into critical care then emergency room.  Finally, I retired from nursing and pursued the writing career I always wanted. I have three published books now and two that I'm working on at present.  I have a website: www.sarahmcneal.com I still play the violin--not all that well though and I learned how to play the bagpipes.  My neighbors can testify that I'm not that great in that either since they're really loud--and annoying. ha ha I'll have to come back and check on you guys to see what others have been doing. Reunion was my first time and I am so happy I came ,even came by myself thanks to the encouragement on line(classmates) of brenda hamilton,a new friend and I will be back,I grew up between hard/west went to wilmore,AG,Spaugh-wilson,west,I met up with old friends and made new friends  you can span your whole school life /12 yrs at one reunion, was so great and will highly recomend  it.See you 2010.
