FAQ

               (Frequently Asked Questions)

All committee members welcome your questions. The reasoning is simple... we believe the more one knows about this event, the more attendance, and subsequent fun we will all have.  Ask away. Click on Contact Us to send us your question(s).

 1)  Briefly, can you describe the event?
It's like an individual five-year or ten-year class reunion that lasts
three days. It includes all graduating classes (1960-1969) from both
      Harding and West Mecklenburg.

 2)  When is it?
The third weekend in October, although many folks arrive early and/
     or stay later.

 3)  What do you do if you arrive early?
Pretty much whatever you want to do or would normally do at the
beach.  Since Duck's is the HQ for the event, many people use that as a
place to go to "see what's up".  This is really a fun time when one is
likely to run into an ole' buddy.

 4)  Where is it held?
Duck's Night Club   229 Main St.   N. Myrtle Beach, SC  (Ocean Drive)

 5)  How long does it last?
Officially, three nights and three days.  Sunday afternoon until close
      on Tuesday night .

 6)  Why OD?
Many of the 60's graduates went to "the beach" to celebrate major
events (like graduation or summer coming on, ya' know).  OD was the
meeting place to see your classmates, watch the crowd, shaggers,
etc.  No, I won't elaborate on "etc".

 7)  How much does it cost?
The price for the next event will be posted soon for the next reunion
at Duck's. The price includes all three days!

 8)  Where do attendees stay?
There are several hotels in the area.  The Avista, located approx. 3
blocks north of Ducks, has proven to be the most popular, and is
offering discounted rates for attendees.  (Click here for the Avista link)
Many other accommodations are within a short walk or drive.

 9)  What do people wear?
Casual clothes, appropriate for the current weather (shorts to
fleece). Go to the Home Page, scroll down and select any video

from past events to see how we dress.

10) Are there planned events?
Click on Reunion Schedule on our website. If this button is not visible
it means our schedule hasn't yet been finalized. Check back later.

11) What do people do between events?
Whatever.  For those without specific plans, there's always an
informal gathering at Ducks daily from 11:00 AM on.

12) My sister from Iowa is visiting us that week.  Can she attend?
If you are a '60s classmate, she's welcome to come as your guest,
      providing you are also attending.

13) I graduated HHS class of '59, can I come?
By all means. All "upperclassmen" are always invited to attend.

14) I graduated WMHS in 1972...may I attend?
As the name implies, this is a '60s reunion. If you are invited by a '60s
classmate who is planning to attend, you may come as their guest. Our
venue will not accommodate many more than we currently have each
year. This is why we cannot invite other class years.

15) How can I find out more?
By checking out the various pages on this website
     (
www.hardingwestreunion.myevent.com), or by sending your
questions to us through the "Contact Us" page.
