This will be our third year and we are both looking forward to seeing our old buddies and making new ones. It is indeed a very pleasant stroll down memory lane when we see and visit with everyone there. Many thanks to the committee for all their hard work. It is very much appreciated. We will be there on Monday also to start the whole week experience with our friends, Larry and Linda Sutton.. See you all then!

Will not be able to make the reunion but hopefully will one year. I hear how much fun everyone has.  This year just might surpass all others.

O.D. reunion 2008 is almost here and I know everyone is counting down to having a great time.  If you haven't been before, you are in for a real treat.  You will definitely not let it be your last.  For those of you who are returning, you know how much fun is in store.  Just seeing all those Westside smiling faces, hugging and greeting each other...is too cool.  I am coming earlier than ever this year....don 't want to miss a thing.  Class of Harding '64, if you are reading this....please pack and come on down.  Our class has fallen off some and we want to have a great showing.  To all attending...be safe and see you at the beach.

I sent the following e-mail message to Larry Parks on Oct. 4, 2012 and thought that it might be of interest to others...especially other committee members. Thank you, Larry, for the great work that you and the reunion committee do each year in planning and preparing for this fun event.  Thank you also for keeping us so well informed about the Reunion.  Linda and I look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks. Our Harding High School class of 1962 just celebrated our 50th Reunion and had a great turnout.  However, out of a class of about 240 people, we know that 31 have already died.  Thirty-eight more we have not been able to find, so some of them may also be deceased.  Others we know have some serious and in some cases terminal illnesses.  This all brings to mind that each year fewer and fewer of our numbers will be able to attend our reunions…thus emphasizing the importance of getting together and enjoying our friendships with classmates while we can.  Don’t wait until next year…it may be too late!  Steve Davis

I've only seen a few classmates since graduation.  So, hey everybody. After I graduated from college as a nurse, I lived hither and yon--Nebraska and Texas then back home where the grass is green and there are TREES!  I went back to college several times and went into critical care then emergency room.  Finally, I retired from nursing and pursued the writing career I always wanted. I have three published books now and two that I'm working on at present.  I have a website: www.sarahmcneal.com I still play the violin--not all that well though and I learned how to play the bagpipes.  My neighbors can testify that I'm not that great in that either since they're really loud--and annoying. ha ha I'll have to come back and check on you guys to see what others have been doing. God, has it been 44 years since graduation?  Feelin' kinda decrepit now. All good things to your corner of the universe. Sally

The West/Harding Reunion at the beach is so much fun and I\'m affraid I will have to miss it this year.  Medicare changed the Annual Enrollment period to Oct. 15th to Jan. 7th.  This is when I work seven days a week for Humana as a sales agent.  I\'m going to try and come on Saturday, but I will have to wait and see what my work load is.  I know all who go are going to have a wonderful time.  I have heard many classmates that have never attended a reunion before will be going this year.  It is a special time with so many memories and fondness for our class.  I hope to be retired next year when the AEP comes around so if the good Lord is willing and I don\'t get to come this year, I will see you in 2012.  HAVE A GREAT TIME!

You will see alot of friends who you know, who you didn't know very well, and new friends. It is well worth the trip. Thanks to the committee for such a wonderful job in planning the reunion. See you next year.

Carole is absolutely right! Amazing and wonderful things can happen at these reunions!  Steve and I hadn\'t seen or talked since high school.  We both almost didn\'t go to the \'09 reunion, but friends twisted our arms.  We were both available, talked a little at the reunion, emailed some afterward. Then Steve came to Charlotte for his mother\'s surgery.  He called me, we had our first date on March 4, soon were engaged, and got married on May 8, 2010.  And we\'re living happily everafter!  :)  See what can happen?

Harding '65...Last year was my first beach reunion, this year I am going down on Monday and staying all week, the reunion is just a 3 day party where you can meet old friends and just sit around and catch up on all the years since your last seeing them! A great opportunity to meet a whole bunch of new people that have a couple of very similar qualities as you, they grew up on the Westside, a lot of us have never left the westside, and we all went to two really good schools where there was strong rivalry but it was because we were proud of where we went to school and now a good number of years later, we come together and "toast to the best times, the 60's"...If you have never been, please come at least once and I promise, it won't be the last time!!

I am so looking forward to this year's reunion!  I missed last year due to my husbands love for fast cars we were at Road Atlanta for the Petit LeMans - usually it was the week-end before the reunion, but now they are on the same week-end!  Which is a total bummer!  So --- this year my husband will watch the Petit and I will visit with old friends.  If you have never attended one of these reunions, you don't know what you're missing!  When I went to the first one - I was unsure of what to expect!  Beleive me you will have a blast and at our age Blast come far and few between!  So come on out and enjoy and rekindle old friendships !!  I promise you will not be disappointed! Love to you all!

comment by Pete Webb

I have been attempting to come to the reunion for the past 3 - 4 years,  but always interrupted by some stupid (as it turns out) business trip.  Guess what?  They no longer exist.  My plans are to go this year.  Truly looking forward to seeing everyone.

I have been attempting to come to the reunion for the past 3 - 4 years,  but always interrupted by some stupid (as it turns out) business trip.  Guess what?  They no longer exist.  My plans are to go this year.  Truly looking forward to seeing everyone.
